Abstract

Due to the digital transformation, more and more data are generated that could be exploited co-operatively. Availability and accessibility of such data play a crucial role for creating suitable tourism products that address the current needs of the travelers. Regional data collaborations in tourism can be fundamental to overcoming barriers to data collection and analysis and opening up new opportunities. Hence, regional data cooperations may become a counterweight to the global Internet platforms. While general forms of cooperation have already been researched in tourism, there is no scientific and practical knowledge about data cooperation and its practical application. The aim of the article is to provide action-oriented knowledge about the shared use of data within regional data cooperation in tourism. The entire process is based on the data cooperation model.
