Abstract

('Greed' may be defined as an ethical dubious orientation of self-interest, which typically results in excessiveness. Section 1 rejects the proposition of greed being a creative power and by no means a moral evil. The damaging effects of greed are discussed in section 2. In section 3 some ethical approaches are discussed which on the one hand are oriented towards the limitation and on the other hand towards a liberation of greed. Section 4 summarizes the article.)
