Abstract

The topic of Bulgaria’s international economic relations and development of cooperation with the developing countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America is explicitly a problem of the present day. In the course of its transition to a market-oriented economy, when the whole international economic strategy of Bulgaria was aimed at achieving of a full membership in the European Union, its relations with the developing countries were not simply put on a back stage, totally abandoned. The lack of an in-depth analysis of the changes in the social and economic development of the developing countries, of the regional and economic unions which were formed, gave also a negative impact on the defining of Bulgaria’s international economic policy and especially in this important field of the international economic relations. In the mean time, Bulgaria become a member of the European Union, and as a member of the European union, it has to make and implement some commitments for supporting of the developing countries in overcoming of poverty, backwardness and a whole range of severe social problems.
