Dans l’ombre des Sudètes Mémoire et identité collective des Allemands tchèques

Abstract

Cet article s’appuie sur l’analyse d’histoires de vie recueillies auprès de la génération la plus âgée des Allemands vivant encore en Bohême. L’objectif est de montrer comment s’est construite la vision du passé de ces personnes qui, contrairement à la majorité des Allemands des Sudètes, sont restées en Bohême. En dépit de nombreuses analogies, des différences subsistent entre la façon dont elles conçoivent ce passé et l’histoire communément admise. L’auteur étudie ces distinctions en s’appuyant sur les approches constructivistes de la mémoire collective. À cette fin, les usages des formes narratives dans les récits biographiques sont examinés ici afin de mesurer le poids du présent dans l’évocation du passé.
