Le travail des femmes en France et en Russie : l’effet des enfants et des valeurs de genre

Abstract

La façon dont Les enfants et Les attitudes à l’égard du rôLe des hommes et des femmes influencent la participation des femmes au marché du travail est examinée pour deux pays dont le type d’État-providence et les normes de genre dif-fèrent : la France et la Russie. Les auteurs comparent les déterminants de L’offre de main-d’œuvre féminine en utilisant les données de la première vague de l’enquête « Générations et genre » (GGS) menée dans Les deux pays. En Russie, L’âge du plus jeune enfant est Le principal facteur de La baisse de La participation des femmes. En France, L’effet des enfants est multidimensionnel et, contrairement à La Russie, Les normes de genre y jouent un rôLe majeur. L’éventail plus Large de possibilités qu’ont Les Françaises (travailler ou non, à temps plein ou partiel) explique La plus grande hétérogénéité des comportements féminins.
