Tchèques et Allemands aujourd’hui : bon voisinage sur fond de réconciliation difficile

Abstract

Vingt ans après la fin du communisme en Tchécoslovaquie et l’unification de l’Allemagne, on peut qualifier les relations germano-tchèques de « relations de bon voisinage ». Pourtant, le processus de réconciliation entamé après 1989 ne progresse pas aussi bien que le consensus ayant entouré la signature d’une « Déclaration de réconciliation » en 1997 l’avait laissé espérer. Les relations économiques entre les deux pays sont intenses et l’entrée de la République tchèque dans l’Union européenne en 2004 a atténué l’asymétrie qui a longtemps caractérisé l’ensemble de leurs relations. Cependant, normalisation ne signifie pas réconciliation et si, aujourd’hui, le passé n’entrave plus les relations politiques au niveau bilatéral, le processus est encore loin d’être achevé.
