Les Russes d’Asie centrale : une minorité en déclin face à de multiples défis

Abstract

Depuis les années 1990, la situation des Russes présents en Asie centrale a profondément évolué. L’ancienne « minorité impériale » a dû gérer, outre des migrations massives en direction de la Russie, une remise en cause de son statut privilégié. Les questions de double citoyenneté, de discrimination professionnelle, de statut de la langue russe, ainsi que le maintien de l’enseignement du russe et l’accès aux médias de Russie constituent les principaux éléments du contentieux qui oppose les associations de défense des Russes aux autorités politiques des cinq États. Cependant, le ressserrement des liens économiques entre l’Asie centrale et la Russie, en particulier par le biais des migrations de travail, contribue à dissocier de plus en plus nettement la question de la minorité russe de celle de la russophonie en Asie centrale.
