An empirical typology of logistics platforms and activities

Abstract

L’engouement récent et marqué pour la création de plates-formes logistiques pose la question des facteurs déterminant l’attrait de telles structures et la composition des entreprises qui les occupent. Après avoir mis en évidence le jeu d’acteurs présents lors de la mise en place de ces plates-formes, cet article présente une méthode basée sur l’étude de la composition et de la morphologie de ces parcs industriels, ainsi que des acteurs impliqués dans leur création et leur localisation, et aboutissant à une typologie des plates-formes logistiques. Les résultats ébauchent un modèle centre-périphérie assez classique en géographie économique et allant à l’encontre de l’image de plates-formes logistiques pouvant être reproduites partout et garantissant la création d’activités. L’importance des acteurs impliqués lors de la mise en place de ces structures est également mise en évidence.
