Abstract

Le « non urbain » couvre l’essentiel de l’espace des pays occidentaux. C’est le lieu d’invention de nouvelles pratiques économiques, sociales, de pouvoir, liées à un processus fondamental : la rurbanisation. Cet article se propose d’analyser les causes de ce mouvement et de dégager des pistes pour une nouvelle organisation du rurbain, par les transports, les services, l’habitat, la gouvernance, et la coopération sociale et culturelle, dans un contexte de durabilité et de qualité de vie. Voir le rurbain comme un milieu d’avenir, producteur de richesses et de bien-être, telle est la vision que nous développons dans la tradition des désurbanistes.
