Abstract

The paper aspires to join the line of study that analyzes the business strategies; specifically it focuses on the paths to follow in order to achieve sustainable competitive advantages by the so-called high-tech companies. The ultimate goal of the contribution is to identify the strategic levers and behaviours on which some successful firms are based, and that can serve as reference for other followers. To this aim nine case studies of high-tech companies placed in Campania are analyzed. Although still provisional, the survey findings seem to offer several interesting points worthy of study, such as shared orientation to the constant enrichment of intangibles and the predisposition to innovation. The companies have also significant similarities about the vision and the motivation behind their action, as well as in the choices of financial management and in dealing with credit intermediaries. Globally, therefore, a possible trajectory of strategic and competitive path could be imitated by other equivalents firms.
