Comercio exterior e inversión extranjera: Un análisis en prospectiva sobre el crecimiento económico de México 1990-2014

Abstract

El movimiento internacional de capitales en forma de inversión extranjera directa (IED), ha sido objeto de múltiples reflexiones y acercamientos teóricos de las ciencias sociales y exactas en diferentes momentos del tiempo; sin embargo, en la actualidad ha cobrado mayor relevancia en las discusiones políticas, de negocios y académicas; no obstante la importancia relativa de los flujos financieros internacionales no es reciente, en los años ochenta, la fuente de financiamiento de los bancos entró en crisis y dejaron de recibir recursos, surgiendo como una alternativa la inversión extranjera directa (IED). En este contexto el objetivo del trabajo es analizar la relación entre IED y el comercio exterior en México y su impacto en el crecimiento Nacional en el periodo 1990-2014. Hasta ahora el papel positivo de la inversión extranjera se limita a acrecentar el comercio exterior, la inversión extranjera solo ha beneficiado a unos sectores de la economía, se requiere fomentar la distribución espacial y homogénea de la IED.
