Major Trends In Contemporary Western Economic Theory (On Lectures of Nobel Laureates In Economics)

Abstract

This scientific work explains basic tendencies of contemporary Western economic thought by using analysis of inaugural lectures of the Nobel Prizewinners in Economics. Their number and input from the aspect of national and theoretic affiliation (to a certain economic course) are being analyzed. Domination of the American economic theoreticians, change in topic (role of a man in economy) and methodology of research (recognition of non-economic factors in economy), as well as significance of applying mathematics are being emphasized. Influence of certain economic courses on contemporary economic theory of the West is being compared.
