Türk Medyasında Yer Alan Göçmenler ve Suç Temalı Haberlere İlişkin Bir İnceleme

Abstract

Göçmenlerin medyada nasıl temsil edildiği, ev sahibi ülke halkının göçmenlere yönelik görüş ve davranışlarını etkilemesi açısından önem arz etmektedir. Bu akademik çalışma, Nisan 2011 tarihinden Mart 2021 tarihine kadarki 10 yıllık zaman zarfında Sabah, Habertürk ve Sözcü gazetelerinin dijital platformlarında yayınlanan göçmen ve suç temalı haber içeriklerini incelemiş ve göçmenlerin işlediği hangi suçların haberlere yansıdığı, suç temalı haberlerin yıllara göre dağılımı ve göçmen grupların hangi tür suçlara ilişkin haberlerde daha çok fail hangi tür suçlara ilişkin haberlerde ise mağdur oldukları ortaya koyulmuştur. Gazetede göçmenler ve suç temalı toplam 2737 haber tespit edilmiştir. Haberlerin 1516 tanesinde kaçak geçiş, 473 tanesinde göçmen kaçakçılığı, 259 tanesinde terörizm, 219 tanesinde fuhuşa zorlama ve 206 tanesinde de cinayet suçu yer almıştır. 2011 yılında yayınlanan suç haberlerinin sayısının beş yıl içerisinde yaklaşık 14,2 katına, 10 yılda ise yaklaşık 35,1 katına ulaştığı görülmüştür. Haberlerin 2182 tanesinin Suriyeli mültecilerin ve diğer göçmenlerin doğrudan Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’ne karşı, 179 tanesinin Suriyeli mülteciler ve diğer göçmen grupların Türk vatandaşlara karşı, 399 tanesinin de Türk vatandaşların Suriyeli mültecilere ve diğer göçmenlere karşı işlediği suçlarla ilişkili olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bu bulgular Adalet Bakanlığı’nın yabancı uyruklulara ilişkin suç verileriyle karşılaştırılarak tartışılmıştır.
