Abstract

In their vain attempt to usurp the highest power of the Party and the state, restore capitalism, and impose the dictatorship of the landlords and the bourgeoisie, the Wang, Zhang, Jiang and Yao anti-Party "gang of four" came up with a counterrevolutionary political program that identified the old cadres as "democrats" and the "democrats" as "capitalist roaders." They alleged that a "bourgeoisie" existed in the Communist Party and pointed their spearheads toward a large number of leadership comrades in the Party, the government and the armed forces at both the central and the local levels.
