Abstract

This study investigates the training process of transformational leadership amongst Romanian (N-E region) managers in the service sector. Also, based upon existing literature, a generic conceptual model was developed, focussing on the impact of dependent variables, such as education and motivation, and one independent variable, transformational leadership. Five hypothesis have been tested in total, according to the answers of 35 managers, from organizations from all hierarchical levels. Results show a positive and significant relationship between the length of work and idealized influence, and a significant relationship between leaders’ education and inspirational motivation. The study reveals, also, a positive relationship between the intrinsic motivation and the transformational leadership style.
