Abstract

The research goal was to draw up a real job description and a record of real exigencies of this occupation. In order to achieve the goal and verify the assumptions of the hypothesis participative observation method was used, on all the teachers in a public overtime kindergarten. Observation data were supplemented with the help of some questionnaires on describing the teacher’s job, inside and outside the office, applied to the kindergarten’s whole staff, and that is 23 teachers and 23 other employers with nonteaching status. That’s how it’s been confirmed the hypothesis that the areas of competence are more numerous, than those in the teacher job description, on an oversized actually norm. This fact has caused an overload of tasks and occupational stress among teachers, because they were forced to develop their own defence instruments, against the pressure experienced at the work place. In conclusion, the job description, resulted from the synthesis of those data that allow synthetic and accurate job description, does not contain all the tasks that the teacher carries and it also does not quantify the effort realized with a larger number of children than the specific normative provides.
