Abstract

Our paper launches in the scientific circulation a point of view on the risk of slippage to methodological mimicry in the approach of social problems in the trend of globalization (and) from unilateral, even exclusive perspective of economics, which leads in fact neither to their real measurement nor to their correct approach. In response, we propose a nuanced approach, focusing on specific issues, values and experiences of national/ local success, providing the example of successful intercultural experiment from a Romanian history: Banat. We advocate the use of synthetic indicators of economic growth, that is the use of the dynamic of population occupation in the three sectors, a more appropriate methodology for the social perspective of approach, in the compared register of the development level of countries in the immediate present and in historical perspective.
