Abstract

This article presents the role played by the pluricultural, intercultural and multicultural education in schools. Its purpose is that of emphasizing the role of the educated pupils in facilitating the accommodation of the ethnocultural minority groups and, on the other hand, the accommodation and opening of the social majority to the specific cultural models/patterns of the minority groups. Regarding the pedagogical methods, personal experience and discovery learning are the training techniques employed to shape the cognitive and emotional horison of the pupil as a subject of the pluricultural, intercultural and multicultural education. The conclusion of this article is that we live in a dynamic and complex society and that the cultural diversity that affects individuals and the pluricultural, intercultural and multicultural education have a distinct part in the evolution of the pupils’ personality, thus enabling their harmonious social insertion as future adults.
