Crecimiento economico optimo y calidad ambiental

Abstract

El debate actual sobre los problemas del agotamiento de los recursos naturales y los niveles de contaminación generados por la actividad económica, ha transcendido al campo del crecimiento económico. Lo que se pretende en este trabajo es utilizar el modelo de Ramsey (1928) y evaluar como se comportan las variables relevantes de una sociedad, cuando se incluye en un mecanismo social de preferencia la contaminación como un stock de desechos de la producción de bienes y servicios. Además, se utiliza las leyes de la termodinámica aplicadas a la energía y los materiales, para elaborar una definición de contaminación, de modo que pueda ser incluida en la ecuación de acumulación de capital de la economía.
