Abstract

After the breakdown of the World Coffee Agreement in July 1989, the situación for Colombian coffee growing was much harder tan expected, with total production over 16 million sacks and exports of that order; therefore, cultural practices of coffee growing were drastically reduced. The Coffee Producers Agreement and the sub-zero temperaturas in Brazil from June to July 1994 led to an international Price recovery, nevertheless real income remained lower tan at the end of 1991. There is no coffee bonanza for coffee growers but for The National Association of Coffee Growers (FEDECAFE), The Coffee Fund and for prívate dealers
