Abstract

In the 18th century Adam Smith established the basis for economical liberalism when he stated that society would automatically achieve harmony among its members, allowing each individual to conduct himself egoistically in pursuit of his highest benefit by means of the act of trade, thus pointing out the sacrosanct role of the market. Political Economy has tried to demonstrate such an assertion but up to now, neither the Theory of Prices of Production nor the Theory of General Equilibrium have succeeded in demonstrating that equilibrium is automatically attained. This article fries to establish the preceding events of such a scientific project .First of all, stating that such a project is the result of the revolution of characteristic values of modern ideology, and in which economics appears for the first time as private and autonomous domain and in which the economic relationships subdue the social relationships. This point of view allows new trends of thinking for the criticism of Political Economy
