Abstract

Today, gender equality is consolidated as a topic to be addressed in order to reduce the gender gap, because it is a factor that impacts the social development of nations. Thus, the objective of this study is to determine the success of the gender equality policies implementation in the board of shareholders of Mexican companies. 145 companies listed on the Mexican Stock Exchange in the years 2014 - 2018 are considered, through methodological design of panel data. As part of the results, a positive relationship was found in the inclusion of women in the board of shareholders, which allows assuming that the generation of policies on equal opportunities at the senior management level favors the incorporation of women at the management levels decision making, breaking the famous glass ceiling that exits in México
