Abstract

Okul seçimi konusundaki temel meselelerden bir tanesi öðrenci yerleþtirilmeleriyle ilgili bir mekanizma tasarlamaktýr. Eðitim yazýný, böyle mekanizmalarýn tasarlanmasýyla ilgili yol göstermesine raðmen belirli tasarýlar sunmamaktadýr. Halen var olan okul seçimi planlarýndaki kusurlar, memnun olmayan velilerin itirazlarýna sebebiyet vermektedir. Biz, okul seçimi problemini bir mekanizma tasarýmý problemi gibi formüle edip Boston, Columbus, Minneapolis ve Seattle’dakilerin de aralarýnda olduðu mevcut okul seçimi planlarýndan bazýlarýný analiz ediyoruz. Bu planlarýn ciddi yetersizlikler barýndýrdýklarýný gösterip her biri önemli bazý okul seçimi meselelerine pratik çözümler getiren iki alternatif mekanizma öneriyoruz.
