Abstract

This paper studies the effects of four Corporate Governance variables over the turnover probability of Mexican Board of Director´s Presidents. The variables analyzed are: family links, business groups, political links, and size of the Board of Directors. The conclusions reached in general differ from the rest of the literature reviewed. This is explained by the fact that the Mexican entrepreneurial reality is different from many other countries; therefore, agency theory does not apply in this case.
