Abstract

This working paper describes the Lost Social Function dynamic in the Mexican case during april 2000 to september 2011, considering an Unemployment Function as a result of a Phillip’s Expanded Curve, because the last continues being a debate in the academia and government, not only by its implementation in measuring the inverse relation between inflation and unemployment, but also for design in making economic policy decisions in short term. Based in an econometrical exercise, the results show that under optimization techniques in time series with discretional policies and major aversion to inflation, it is better than using fixed rules policies, obtaining better lost social levels.
