Abstract

This study concerns the optimum size of an ice cream branch plant and territory. The company operated ten plants covering a seven state area. At the time of the study, management was uncertain as to even the approximate size of an optimum plant. The study revealed that about six larger plants would be a better system. The company now operates six plants and is considering cutting this number still further.
