Characteristics and Reading Habits of TIMS Members

Abstract

In the fall of 1973 a mailed survey was conducted to learn more about the audience of TIMS journals and co-incidentally about the membership of TIMS. The questionnaire was designed to develop profiles of the readers on several dimensions, to find out the readership habits of the population, to determine the usefulness of TIMS journals vis-a-vis journals of other professional societies, and to try to uncover changes desired in the TIMS publications.
