Abstract

A short report “Determining Transportation Requirements for Development of a Major Oil Field” is given. McDermott Operations Research helped apply animated simulation to evaluate the transportation and material-movement requirements in a multibillion dollar oil field project situated in the Caspian Sea off Baku, Azerbaijan. The feasibility of developing this field was studied by a consortium led by Amoco. McDermott, which holds an interest in the consortium, assisted Amoco Eurasia in the feasibility study through its Hudson Engineering unit in Houston by building a simulation model.
