A Note on “Management Science/Operations Research in Greece” by John C. Papageorgiou

Abstract

The recent paper by Professor J. Papageorgiou [Papageorgiou, J. C. 1986. Management science/operations research in Greece. Interfaces 16 (4, July--August) 24--30.] entitled “Management science/operations research in Greece” has impressed me with its thorough analysis and clear argument. I am also impressed with the author's knowledge of the evolution of MS/OR in Greece.I want to discuss some other factors that influence MS/OR in Greece and my slightly different opinion of the condition of MS/OR in Greece today.
