Behavioral Science---Interfacing Applications and Research

Abstract

A new and valuable class of article has been pioneered successfully by Interfaces . Each issue now has an article featured on the cover which provides a direct, powerful picture of a real management problem, and the solution approach which has been adopted. Each of these cover articles is accompanied by an independent letter attesting to cost-savings or profit-improvement attributed to the Management Science effort. We can build upon this success in a variety of ways. I believe that one avenue we should explore is that of co-authorship which pairs an academic or theoretician with a practitioner or “industrial type.”
