Abstract

This paper contains information obtained during a two-week tour of China beginning December 25, 1978, sponsored jointly by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (Academia Sinica) and the U.S. Office of Naval Research. The presentation is chronological, representing my recollections of each day's events. Any inaccuracies are due entirely to me. For those seeking additional information, a few addresses are provided in Appendix A.
