Kişilik özelliklerinin A-tipi fon yöneticilerinin seçicilik ve zamanlama becerileri üzerine etkileri

Abstract

Bu çalışma, çalışanların kişilik özelliklerinin onların iş performansları üzerinde etkili olacağı varsayımından hareket etmiştir. Bu çerçevede, finans piyasalarında çalışan A-tipi fon yöneticilerinin beş faktör kişilik özellikleri ile finansal performansları arasındaki olası ilişkiler incelenmiştir. Kişilik psikolojisi ile finans alanının sentezlenmeye çalışıldığı araştırmada, fon yöneticilerinin finansal performans kriterleri olarak; menkul kıymet seçme ve zamanlama becerileri temel alınmıştır. Uygulamaya, fon yöneticilerinin iki yıllık dönemde kesintisiz ve aktif olarak yönettikleri 70 A-tipi fon dâhil edilmiş; menkul kıymet seçme becerisi Jensen, yatırım zamanlaması becerisi Treynor ve Mazuy performans değerlendirme ölçütleri ile haftalık bazda değerlendirilmiştir. Lojistik regresyon analizi sonucunda, fon yöneticilerinin başarılı zamanlama becerisi üzerinde deneyime açıklık ve sorumluluk boyutlarının anlamlı ve olumlu yönde bir etkisi olduğu tespit edilmiş; öte yandan nevrotiklik kişilik özelliğinin fon yöneticilerinin hem seçme, hem de zamanlama becerilerini olumsuz yönde etkilediği ortaya çıkmıştır. Bulgular, A-tipi yatırım fonu yöneticilerinin işe alım süreçlerinde kişilik özellikleri yönünden değerlendirilmelerinin uygun olacağı yönünde ipuçları sunmaktadır.
