KKTC ekonomisinde büyümenin kaynakları ve istihdam imkânları

    Abstract

    Küçük bir ada ekonomisine sahip olan KKTC uzun zamandır uluslararası camia tarafından tanınmamışlığın tüm olumsuzlukları ile baş etmek zorunda kalmıştır. Ticari ambargo gibi politik kısıtlar, bünyesinde birçok olumsuzluğu barındıran bu küçük ada ekonomisinde mevcut problemlerin etkilerinin daha da artmasına neden olmuştur. Özellikle Annan Planı’nın kabul edilmemesinin ardından KKTC hükümeti Rum kesimi ile aralarındaki büyük gelir farkının kapatılması yolunda gereksinim duyulan bağımsız ekonomik politikaları oluşturmaya koyulmuştur. Bu çalışmada girdi-çıktı yöntemleri kullanılarak, KKTC ekonomisindeki ekonomik büyümenin kaynaklarının neler olduğu tespit edilmeye çalışılmaktadır. Çalışmanın sonuçlarına göre, KKTC ekonomisinde turizm, inşaat, mali hizmetler ve yüksek öğrenim gibi sektörlerin en yüksek ekonomik büyüme katkısına sahip oldukları görülmektedir. Bu sektörlerdeki büyümenin teşvik edilmesinde, yurtiçinden kaynaklanan nihai talep ve yurt dışı talepten kaynaklanan ihracat önemlidir. Bunun yanında, çalışmada KKTC ekonomisinin istihdam yaratma kapasitesinin de ne olduğu incelenmiş, KKTC ekonomisinde emek-hasıla oranında ve bununla beraber ekonominin ek istihdam yaratma kapasitesinde önemli düşüşler yaşandığı sonucuna erişilmiştir.
