Finansal kalkınma ve iktisadi büyüme arasındaki nedensellik

Abstract

Bu makale finansal kalkınma ve iktisadi büyüme arasındaki nedensellik ilişkisini araştırır. Çalışma 1986–2004 dönemi Türkiye ekonomisi yıllık verilerini kapsamaktadır. Çalışmada finansal kalkınmayı temsilen dört ayrı vekil değişken kullanılmıştır. Bu değişkenler geniş anlamda para arzının (M2) gayri safi yurtiçi hâsılaya oranı, mevduat bankalarının toplam mevduatlarının gayri safi yurtiçi hâsılaya oranı, özel sektöre verilen kredilerin gayri safi yurtiçi hâsılaya oranı ve finansal tasarrufların gayri safi yurt içi hâsılaya oranıdır. Johansen-Juselius eş-bütünleşme testlerinden finansal kalkınma ile iktisadi büyüme arasında uzun dönemli bir ilişkinin olmadığı görülmüştür. Granger nedensellik testi iktisadi büyümeden finansal kalkınmaya doğru bir nedensellik ilişkisinin olduğunu göstermiştir. Dolayısıyla Türkiye için iktisadi büyüme ve finansal kalkınma arasındaki ilişki ‘talep takibi’ şeklindedir.
