Gelişmiş Ve Gelişmekte Olan Ülkelerde Enflasyon Ve Büyüme: Yatay-Kesit Ve Panel Veri Analizi

Abstract

Çalışmada, Grimes (1991)’in enflasyonun büyüme üzerindeki kısa ve uzun dönemli etkilerini bir arada test etmeye yarayan modeli esas alınmıştır. Ancak, sadece gelişmiş 21 ülkeyi inceleyen Grimes (1991)’den farklı olarak; gelişmiş ve gelişmekte olan ülkeler için enflasyon-büyüme ilişkisi analiz edilmiştir. Çalışmada 63 ülke incelenmiştir. Bu ülkelerin 23 tanesi gelişmiş ve 40 tanesi gelişmekte olan ülkedir. Enflasyon-büyüme ilişkisinin testinde iki yaklaşımdan hareket edilmiştir: a) Yatay-kesit analiz, b) Panel veri analizi. Her iki analizden elde edilen bulgulara göre, gelişmiş ve gelişmekte olan ülkelerde enflasyon büyümeyi uzun dönemde negatif yönde etkilemektedir. Ancak enflasyonun büyüme üzerindeki olumsuz etkisi, gelişmiş ülkelere kıyasla gelişmekte olan ülkelerde daha fazladır.
