Abstract

Bu çalışmada Cumhuriyetin ilk yıllarında yayınlanmış iki çalışmaya dayanarak Cumhuriyet’in ilanını takip eden ilk on yıldaki iş hayatının profilinin oluşturulması hedeflenmiştir. Çalışmanın en önemli bulgusu, Cumhuriyetin ilanının ekonomik faaliyetlerin yapısını değiştiremediğidir. Osmanlı döneminde olduğu gibi hem nitelikli emek hem de girişimcilik alanında yabancıların egemenliği sürmektedir. İktisadi aktivitelerin faaliyet alanları ve coğrafi konumları da Osmanlı döneminden farklı değildir. Ayrıca, II. Meşrutiyet’ten sonra izlenen ‘Milli İktisat’ politikaları paralelinde milli girişimci yetiştirme çabalarının olumlu sonuçları da çalışma da gözlenmiştir
