Abstract

This paper examines the evolution of the main indicators of the international automotive market in 2015, compared with the previous year. It highlights several aspects related to production, registrations and international trade in vehicles as a whole, and by country and geographic regions, depending on available data. It also presents the major manufacturing and exporting companies, as well as the medium-term outlook (2018-2021) for this market. The analysis shows that 2015 has not been a favourable year for the global automotive industry, mainly due to lower sales in emerging markets, but there are premises for its revival in the coming years.
