The Eu Strategy Of Hydrogen, As Alternative Source For The Green Energy

Abstract

Clean hydrogen from renewable resources is considered the best (or only) choice for large-scale de-carbonization of transport, industry and building segments in the European Union over the 2030-2050 horizon. This article examines The Hydrogen Strategy for a climate neutral Europe, launched by the European Commission in July 2020, as part of the European Green Deal. The EU Hydrogen Strategy will give a boost to clean hydrogen R&D&I and production in Europe. By identifying hydrogen technologies and systems, the potential of hydrogen to replace fossil fuel-based energy, create jobs and increase the overall long-term competitiveness of EU industry has been recognized. The article is structured in 7 chapters and conclusions, which correspond to the themes addressed in the EU Hydrogen Strategy.
