Structural Analysis Of Agricultural Farms In Romania - Identified Problems And Likely Development Opportunities

Author

Abstract

The article aims to identify opportunities for the development of agricultural farms in Romania, based on the structural analysis comparing them to those in the EU member countries. The analysis brings a new perspective, namely the farm typology according to the average yields calculated at national and regional level, as a ratio between the standard output (SO) and the utilized agricultural area (UAA). The recommendations include optimizing farm structure by reorienting their profile towards products with higher standard output coefficients, as well as making a better use of the funding opportunities offered by the CAP and the National Rural Development Programme.
