Abstract

Unlike all other metals, silver and gold function as indicators of inflationary expectations and economic, political or social stability, which makes their market value evolve traditionally in tandem. However, due to the way buyers look at the usefulness of each of them, in the short and medium term, there are often large differences in rhythms of price increases. In this context, investment funds and large investors have found that speculation of the market value ratio of the two precious metals can generate quick and extremely attractive gains and have taken over the practice of capitalizing on short-term fluctuations in Gold/Silver ratio (commonly used by central banks and financial organizations).
