Acuerdo de Asociación de la Unión Europea y Centroamérica: Alianza entre regiones históricas amigas

Abstract

El Acuerdo de Asociación de la Unión Europea y Centroamérica busca profundizar nexos birregionales. En particular, trata de consolidar una alianza entre las partes, tomando en consideración los esfuerzos y foros de discusión que conjuntamente, han emprendido las regiones en las últimas décadas. En el trabajo se reconoce la sólida afinidad de valores, principios, intereses y preocupaciones comunes, que permiten pese a sus asimetrías, reforzar y potenciar las relaciones existentes entre las regiones. De consumarse el Acuerdo, se visualizan relaciones significativas, que incitan a posibles campos de cooperación relacionados con la defensa de los valores básicos de libertad, democracia, derechos humanos, Estado de Derecho, entre otros. De esta manera, el escrito invita a conocer más sobre este instrumento, que puede significar una importante alternativa de desarrollo; ya que sobrepasa la idea de un Tratado de Libre Comercio, así incluye aspectos importantes, como la cooperación al desarrollo, el diálogo político y comercial./ The Association Agreement between the European Union and Central America seeks to deepen ties between the two regions. In particular, try to consolidate an alliance between two regions, taking into account the efforts and discussion forums have jointly undertaken in recent decades. The paper recognizes the strong affinity of values, principles, common interests and concerns, allowing despite its asymmetry, reinforce and strengthen relations between regions. Consummated, displayed significant relationships that encourage potential areas of cooperation related to the defense of the core values of freedom, democracy, human rights, rule of law, among others. Thus, the letter invites you to learn more about this instrument, which can mean an important alternative development, and that surpasses the idea of a Free Trade Agreement, and includes issues such as development cooperation, political dialogue and commercial.
