Research on configuration and innovation of service supply chain: a case study

Abstract

Service supply chain (SSC) is a newly research topic in supply chain management, which is regarded as an integrated service-based supply chain different from either manufacturing sector or service sector. To address this deficiency, this article explores the configuration and characteristics of SSC based on case study of Shaanxi Blower (Group) Co., Ltd. The insights provided by this research propose that SSC reflects on three aspects. Firstly, the structure of SSC is a complex network, which combines direct or indirect service providers around service integrator. Secondly, its business process is comprised of capability, demand, supply, customer relationship, service delivery and capital management. Finally, SSC components reflect process-oriented structure and incentives.
