This study presented an exploratory analysis of Chinese services sector using additively decomposable inequality measure, data reduction technique and statistical data. Our research found that state intervention has a very important role in outlining the major characteristics and evolution of services sector in China, and future growth of the services sector is likely to depend on a government open door and reform policy.
