Abstract

This research aims at establishing a connection between the theory and practice of retail revenue management by designing a decision support system based on the experience acquired from several applied research projects at various retailers. With this system, users are expected to be able to make better pricing and inventory decisions by using the tools provided by developments in revenue management and information technologies, whereby an efficient analysis of the data stored in their systems can be performed. The data schema, system architecture and user interface are described. This design has been successfully implemented in a Chilean retail chain.
