Abstract

This research presents a methodology to evaluate the financial productivity profiles of the companies in the chemical sector in Colombia. A rational empirical analysis was carried out, supported by the information of 320 companies in the sector reported in the governmental entity SIREM, business reporting information system. The theoretical foundation was based on the theories of multivariate calculus associated with cluster analysis and discriminant analysis. Also, the theories associated with financial productivity indicators were used. With the appliance of cluster analysis business profiles were defined, productive indicators of the company's object of this research were evaluated in the same way. The discriminant analysis allowed analysing the membership of the business productivity profiles with a 95.36% confidence.
