Abstract

This study investigates the relationships between knowledge management, innovation competency and organisational performance. Although there is not yet consensus on how knowledge management influences organisational performance, empirical evidence shows it does and innovation competency has been identified as a strategic promoter of this interaction. The major theoretical contribution of this study is to suggest that knowledge management can be seen from two perspectives, external business relationships and internal structures, and performance can be seen in terms of both internal and external dimensions. Results indicated that innovation competency positively influences organisational performance and organisational knowledge management influences innovation competency positively.
