Abstract

Mergers and acquisitions (M%A) have become an engine of growth for corporations and national economic system. The earlier studies on M%A have explored various aspects of restructuring including valuation, impact on macroeconomic variables, and influences on financial markets without much focus on socio cultural aspects. The high importance of culture in any M%A has now been proved in various studies. The objective of this study is to organise and assess the present status of researches on the organisational socio-cultural aspects in M%As by reviewing the past work in a comprehensive manner to provide spontaneous access to the prospective researchers. 257 research papers from secondary sources like various journals and online databases for the time period from 1988 to 2020 have been shortlisted .There has been significant growth and potential in the research work associated with socio-cultural aspect of M%A in India as well as under developed countries.
