Abstract

This study aims to develop a model for incentive-based compensation using meta-synthesis. Specifically, we reviewed more than 1,749 papers from relevant journals and conference proceedings. Dimensions and relevant codes were extracted using content analysis, and the importance and priority of the codes were determined using Shannon's entropy. According to our findings, the components identified in this model were categorised into two dimensions: financial (based on membership and performance) and non-financial (social, organisational and occupational). Moreover, the findings indicate that payment during retirement and disability, continuous cash and non-cash incentives, job advancement opportunities, medical insurance (unemployment and supplementary), favourable working conditions, growth and learning, ideal colleagues, the establishment of social relations in the workplace, and skill-based and performance-based payments are significant. In other words, they have been studied more closely and more repeatedly than the other codes in compensation systems.
