Economy of collaboration: collaborative economics vis-a-vis competitive economics

Abstract

The article criticises the neo-liberal economic school for its failure foreseeing the current crises, arguing that neo-liberal approach does not fit any more to the 21st century's reality. Economics must be more people oriented and more sensitive to their 'none-scientific' desires. Social scholars should not forget that they explore human beings and not matters. The author proposes a revised approach to economics, one that incorporates leadership and management principles within its teaching. Thus, the goals of an economic enterprise should contain three elements, profitability, social accountability and compliance with the environment rules. Because economic activity is executed by two key factors; human initiative and capital, they should be enacted evenly, in order to achieve the best results. The author explains why collaborative economics is needed, discusses the competitive economics' fallacies and ends with the promises of the collaborative economics.
