Bestination: an approach to 'sustainable' networking for Buddhist entrepreneurs

Abstract

Bestination studies offer a moral and an ethical approach to achieving the best destination for businesses. Networking is an essential element for entrepreneurs to excel in their businesses. This study identifies problems and provides a way to positively network without compromising the ethical and moral standards of the businesses. This research interviewed 20 entrepreneurs who have sustained their businesses beyond their first few years of operation. The questions addressed are: 1) How have Buddhist teaching taught the concepts of networking?; 2) How do entrepreneurs view other people involving in their businesses?; 3) How important an entrepreneur view networking as part of his/her business and to what extent that the networking makes their businesses successful?; 4) Where does an entrepreneur set an ethical or moral standard? Is she/he able to achieve that? According to Buddhist principles and some findings, a model called 'The bestination networking style', was developed for entrepreneurs.
